Arco di Costantino (Dedicated in 315)
The Arch of Constantine is a triumphal arch situated between the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill (background). It was erected to commemorate Constantine I's victory over Maxentius at the Battle of Milvian Bridge.
It is the largest Roman triumphal arch and spanned the Via Triumphalis, the way taken by the emperors when they entered the city in triumph.
The arch is 69 feet high, 85 feet wide and 24 feet deep.
