041 Italy - Rome - Roman Forum - Curia Julia

Curia Iulia (44 BC)
Curia Julia
Roman Senate House

The Curia Julia is one of only a handful of Roman structures that still survives mostly intact because of its conversion into the basilica of Sant'Adriano al Foro in the 7th century and several later restorations.

In 283, the Curia Julia was heavily damaged by a fire. From 284 to 305, the Curia was then rebuilt by Diocletian.
