Camera dei Deputati (c. mid 17th century)
Chamber of Deputies
"Parliament of Italy"

The Italian Parliament meets in the Palazzo (Palace) Montecitorio. The palace was not ideally suited to its new role and it was rebuilt during the early 1900s leaving only the facade intact.

Pursuant to article 56 of the Italian Constitution, the Chamber of Deputies has 630 seats, of which 618 are elected from Italian constituencies, and 12 from Italian citizens living abroad.

The Obelisk of Montecitorio, also known as Solare, is an ancient Egyptian, red granite obelisk of Psammetichus II from Heliopolis.
